Evansville City Directories is a collection of Evansville city directories, dating back to the first directory published in 1858. The directories provide historical information about Evansville, as well as addresses & occupations of residents; business listings; detailed trade & manufacturing information; advertisements; and information about schools, churches, & social organizations. The directories are full-text searchable, with results highlighted on the pages where they appear.
The original city directories are located in the Indiana Collection, which is located in Central Library in downtown Evansville.
We hope that local historians, biographers, and genealogists will find these directories interesting and useful. If you have additional information or questions about any of these directories, please contact us via Ask EVPL.
