LST 517 and 493 at buoy #29 Portland, England using 4 wire ropes and 2 manila lines. Several U.S.3. __STTs, U.S.S. Melville, and miscellaneous U.S., British and Allied naval and merchant vessels also present. I. B. Crawfordf 0400 - 0800 Moored as before. 0615-KURZ, L,A., Ensign, USNR and BATSEL, J.C. Jr., Ensign, USNR; MALEN, M.O. , CQ.M; EASTERLY, E.L., CMoMM departed on (5) five days leave to expire at 1300 Saturday 20 January 1945. .0755-Mustered crew at quarters. No absentees. Binnacle list; BEAULIEU, J.A., pox, Cat fever. _ji . 0800 - 1200 . / Moored as before. 0940-Liberty party returned. 1000-Made daily check: of magazine temperatures, conditions normal. Made weekly check of magazine sprinkler system, conditions satisfactory. 1100-Captain's Mast held and assigned punishments as follows: NICHOLS, R.C, Sic, USNR, 579-12-60.
